From Learning to Action: CIVISCE and WAVE Equip Women Entrepreneurs in Kigoma

Kigoma, Tanzania | August 2026

Following the successful completion of a five-day Women’s Entrepreneurship and Business Development Workshop, CLEAR VISION FOR CHANGE (CIVISCE), in partnership with Women in Africa Venturing Education (WAVE) and dedicated volunteers from Switzerland and Germany, has officially handed over productive business equipment to 20 women entrepreneurs in Kigoma.

The handover ceremony marked an important milestone in the participants’ journey—from acquiring new business knowledge to putting that knowledge into practice.

The women, who are engaged in fish vending, bedsheet production, liquid soap making and poultry farming, received sewing machines, fish storage cool boxes and electric liquid soap mixing machines to strengthen and expand their businesses.

Before receiving the equipment, all beneficiaries signed stewardship agreements, reaffirming their commitment to use the equipment responsibly and for its intended purpose. The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Kigoma-Ujiji Municipal Community Development Office, the Kigoma NGO Network, CIVISCE, WAVE and the international volunteers.

Speaking during the ceremony, CIVISCE emphasized that the equipment represents more than business assets—it is an investment in women’s entrepreneurship, household resilience and sustainable livelihoods.

“These tools are not simply donations; they are opportunities. Our hope is that they will help women grow their businesses, improve their families’ livelihoods and inspire others in their communities.”

For the beneficiaries, the equipment symbolizes a new beginning. Equipped with practical skills, productive assets and continued support, they are now better positioned to build stronger businesses and create lasting change within their families and communities.
