Community Mobilisation

We build strong women’s movements to change the macho-culture by:

1. Developing and strengthening the capacities of community members to understand the impact of VAW and its link to health and human rights concerns and, act locally towards its intervention through awareness raising, media and community participation, and
2. Visualizing positive and negative practices in people’s personal lives through group discussions, debates, public address, etc. and creating safe environment for women to increase their stake in decisions regarding their rights.
3. Using communication to support different thematic areas of our work. CIVISCE supports/subserves community mobilization/awareness creation through establishing social communication platforms to reach target groups with intended information enhancing women’s rights and gender equality. In this respect, our communication passes through our website, developed apps, and social media like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. IEC materials also serve for communication where internet is not available.
