School Feeding

At Clear Vision for Change (CIVISCE), we recognize education as a fundamental right and a key driver of gender equality and poverty reduction. However, many marginalized girls in Tanzania, particularly in Kigoma, face barriers such as poverty, food insecurity, early marriage, gender-based violence, and inadequate school resources. Through our Community-Driven Education Support initiative, we address these challenges by expanding community driven education support programs, improving school infrastructure, promoting adolescent wellbeing, and advocating for policy reforms that protect girls’ right to education. By engaging local communities, parents, and public-private partners, we work to make education accessible, inclusive, and sustainable for all girls.

Strengthening Community Driven Education Support & Adolescent Wellbeing

CIVISCE improves school retention and academic performance by scaling up community-supported school meal programs in partnership with local farmers, women’s cooperatives, and parents. By ensuring nutritious meals for students, we reduce absenteeism and enhance classroom concentration. Beyond nutrition, we integrate life skills, reproductive health, mental health, and hygiene education into school and community programs. Peer education initiatives focus on gender equality, leadership, and career development, equipping girls with the confidence to pursue their aspirations.

We empower parents, teachers, and local leaders through training programs that promote education advocacy, mentorship, and school improvements. By fostering public-private partnerships, we mobilize resources from businesses, religious institutions, and development partners to sustain education initiatives. To ensure accountability, we implement community-led progress tracking systems and feedback mechanisms, strengthening long-term engagement in education.

Enhancing Educational Infrastructure & Learning Resources

CIVISCE mobilizes local government and community support to improve classrooms, sanitation, and safe learning environments, prioritizing gender-sensitive school facilities, including hygiene-friendly toilets for adolescent girls. We distribute school supplies, books, and uniforms to reduce financial burdens on families and introduce digital learning tools in remote areas, ensuring equitable access to education. We strengthen teacher and community facilitator training by equipping educators with skills in gender-sensitive education, inclusive learning, and psychosocial support. Additionally, we expand e-learning hubs and mobile education centers, ensuring alternative learning solutions for students in underserved areas and during crises.

Advocating for the Removal of Barriers to Girls’ Education

CIVISCE tackles systemic barriers that hinder girls’ education by leading community-driven awareness campaigns that challenge harmful cultural practices like child marriage and school dropout. We work with government bodies and civil society organizations to strengthen laws protecting girls from early marriage and school exclusion, while advocating for adolescent-friendly health services that support their reproductive and mental wellbeing. To reintegrate married and at-risk girls into education, we establish financial aid and alternative learning programs, providing vocational training and entrepreneurship opportunities that promote economic independence. Our mentorship and peer support networks connect girls with women mentors and role models, fostering career development, academic persistence, and personal empowerment.
