Today, the Clear Vision for Change (CIVISCE) team is on the ground in Kigoma, actively participating in a powerful regional campaign organized by Enabel, the Belgian Development Agency, in Collaboration with Kigoma regional government. The campaign focuses on addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and creating safer, more inclusive communities for women and girls.

This timely event brings together government officials, civil society organizations, local partners, and youth voices in a united stand against GBV. We are especially honored to witness the participation of Hon. Dorothy Gwajima, Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, who is serving as the Guest of Honor and reaffirming national leadership in the fight against gender-based violence.

A Shared Vision: “Wezesha Binti”

Enabel’s flagship intervention in Kigoma: Wezesha Binti” (Empower the Girl), seeks to ensure that young people, especially young women, are empowered to thrive in a protective and gender-equal environment, access quality education and skills, and pursue decent work opportunities. CIVISCE is proud to be among the local partners contributing to this transformative vision.

At CIVISCE, our commitment to ending GBV is rooted in our everyday work through community mobilization, rights-based education, and survivor-centered services. Engaging in this campaign not only strengthens our partnerships but also provides a platform to amplify the lived experiences of women and girls in Kigoma.

Why It Matters

Campaigns like this are more than symbolic; they are catalysts for policy dialogue, grassroots action, and systemic change. As we stand alongside Enabel and fellow changemakers, we’re reminded that addressing GBV requires coordinated, sustained efforts at all levels.

“Being part of this campaign allows us to learn, connect, and amplify the voices of women and girls in Kigoma. It’s about building power and protection together,” said a CIVISCE team member attending the event.

Stay Tuned

Our team is currently away from the office to fully engage in the event, and we look forward to sharing updates, reflections, and photos once we return. This is just one step in a longer journey toward gender justice and we’re proud to walk it together with our partners and community members.
