Clear Vision for Change (CIVISCE) has recently conducted a successful sanitary pad distribution event at Kitongoni Secondary School in Kigoma Ujiji Municipality, benefiting 61 vulnerable adolescent girls. This initiative, dedicated to addressing menstrual hygiene management, aligns with CIVISCE’s mission to empower adolescent girls and ensure equal access to education.

The event was graced by the invited guest of honor, Madam Bukeye, the Secondary School Education Officer. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of menstrual hygiene products in schools and urged headmasters to prioritize sanitary pads in their budgets, emphasizing, “It is forbidden to lack sanitary pads in schools.”

One of the student beneficiaries expressed her appreciation: “I am very grateful to Clear Vision for Change for supporting us with sanitary pads. This is very significant support for us as girls which will help us attend class unmissably. It protects our dignity. Sometimes boys may laugh at me when they see the blood on my skirt. I encourage CIVISCE and urge them to have such a heart of humanitarianism.”

Another student added, “When you lack sanitary pads in school, sometimes you are required to go back home and miss classes.”

The Program Manager of CIVISCE Mr. Barnabas emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting girls in achieving their educational goals: “We believe these sanitary pads will help girl students, especially when they face challenges that might prevent them from attending classes. We want them to use these resources to stay in school and attend their sessions uninterruptedly”.

The distribution marks another step in CIVISCE’s ongoing effort to support adolescent girls’ education by ensuring that menstrual hygiene is not a barrier to their learning experience. Through such initiatives, CIVISCE continues to advocate for a supportive and inclusive school environment for all girls.
